The free tool nobody opens

Google will tell you how it sees your site, if you ask.

Here's something strange. Google gives every website owner a free tool that shows exactly which searches bring people to your site, which pages Google struggles with, and where you're almost ranking but not quite. It's called Search Console, and most businesses either never set it up or set it up once and never look again.

That's a shame, because Search Console is the closest thing to an honest answer straight from Google. It's where you find out that a whole section of your site isn't indexed, or that you rank on page two for a term worth chasing to page one, or that your mobile pages are failing Core Web Vitals. Every one of those is a fixable problem you'd otherwise never see.

We set Search Console up properly, fix what it flags, and turn its data into a plan. Not a monthly screenshot you file away, but a short list of the changes that will actually move your rankings.

Google Search Console FAQs

What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console, often shortened to GSC, is a free tool from Google that shows how your site performs in search. It tells you which queries bring people to your site, which pages are indexed, where you rank, and what technical issues Google has found. It's the most direct, honest source of SEO data you have, and it comes straight from Google.

Why isn't my site showing up on Google?

There are a few common reasons, and Search Console usually reveals which one. Your pages might not be indexed, your site might have technical issues blocking Google, your content might not match what people search, or your site might simply be new. We use Search Console to diagnose exactly what's happening, then fix the specific problem rather than guessing.

What is the difference between Search Console and Google Analytics?

They cover different sides of the same story. Search Console is about how you appear in Google search: queries, rankings, indexing, and clicks from search. Google Analytics is about what people do once they're on your site: sessions, engagement, and conversions. For SEO you want both, and we set them up to work together.

Do I really need Search Console?

If you care about being found on Google, yes. It's free, it's the only place you see your actual search queries and ranking data from Google, and it flags technical problems you'd otherwise miss. There's no good reason not to have it set up properly, and a lot of missed opportunity in not using it.

How often should Search Console be checked?

For most businesses, a regular monthly review catches issues and opportunities in good time, with a quick look sooner if you launch new pages or make big changes. Search Console also flags urgent issues like indexing problems, which we watch for so they get fixed fast rather than sitting unnoticed.
